Early Years Education
“Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, send them forth in freedom.” - Rudolf Steiner
Unlike the traditional paradigm of pre-school, kindergarten, and early elementary programs that emphasize rapid & mechanical skill acquisition, our approach nurtures the organic unfolding of a child’s curiosity about the world.
Life Project Education’s child-centered, early-learning program nurtures a lifelong joy of learning and natural skills progression through social play-based activities, dynamic learning centers, exploration of the natural world, and collaboration with multi-age peers. Our small group dynamic fosters strong connection, facilitates individualized support, and maintains an intimate learning environment.
Preschool & PreK: The Nest
When a child enters a care program and first spends time away from home and their parents, they should experience a warm, loving, comforting, and safe space. Our preschool area is designed with love and intention to replicate a cozy home space. Colors are warm and inviting, and natural wood and nature-based toys infuse the children’s play. Children between the ages of 3-5 are often still dreamy and may still be moving from the developmental stage of parallel play to cooperative play. At this time they are best served in a small, safe environment where they can begin learning how to share, take turns, and exist within a group.
Our preschool & PreKindergarten program offers children the essential qualities necessary for a child’s first step outside the home and the experiences which will help them in their development at this important age and stage. Teachers bring love and warmth; an environment that nourishes the senses; creative and artistic experiences; meaningful adult activity to be imitated; free, imaginative play; ample time in nature; gratitude, reverence, and wonder; joy, humor, and happiness; adult caregivers pursuing a path of inner development.
